One sentence is enough. The book you wish existed, described the way you would describe it to a friend. Submitting costs $35, which keeps every idea serious and makes sure our staff reads it.
Our staff reads every submission and looks at three things: quality, feasibility, and whether the idea will resonate with readers. Approved ideas become campaigns. Ideas that are not a fit today are often a fit later.
The goal is 250 backers at $35 each, which is $8,750. Every pledge is a pre-order and a vote that says this story deserves to exist.
Pledges are non-refundable and stay with Brook to support future campaigns. Every backer gets a warm thank-you explaining how their support keeps the next story alive. Nothing is wasted, it just moves forward with the ecosystem.
The book is greenlit, a writer is commissioned, and the manuscript begins. Backers receive milestone updates as the story takes shape, so you see the book being written rather than waiting in the dark.
The manuscript goes through editing. At the same time, backers vote on the final cover, with a two-week window to choose. The cover with the most votes is the one the book wears forever.
The book is formatted for print and e-book. The names of all 250 backers go in the back as Brook's community imprint, listed as Anonymous for anyone who prefers to stay unnamed.
Every backer receives a free e-book of the finished story, plus a discount code for the printed edition.
A final thank-you email closes the campaign, and the book joins a growing collection of books, where it stays for every reader who arrives after you.
Every Brook book is written by a commissioned human writer. We do not publish AI-written stories, and we never will.
We use AI in three small ways, always with a person in charge. It drafts cover options for backers to vote on, it lightly polishes the wording of an idea after our staff has approved it, and it writes first drafts of milestone update emails that our staff edits before anything is sent. The AI only ever sees the text of a book idea, never your name, email, or card details. Nothing reaches a reader without a person reading it first.
